Set the 845 tube

bias to 100 mA DC Current

¼” bias plug

Insert the ¼” bias meter plug into the bias jack on the back of the amplifier chassis. Connect the bias cable red alligator clip to the positive (+) connection on your meter. Connect the bias cable black alligator clip to the negative (-) connection on your meter. Check the 845 tube bias current reading and adjust for a 100 mA reading on the Volt Ohm Meter (VOM) or DC current meter if the reading is different than 100 mA DC current. Check and readjust to 100 mA again after the CAD 211 amplifier is warmed up for 10 minutes. Remove the ¼” plug from the bias jack and enjoy the music!

Note: Bias is factory preset to 100 mA. Bias should be reset when installing a new replacement 845 tube.

The LARGE pair of 300B tube pins should be installed toward the front of the CAD 211 AE amplifier tube socket. Look carefully at the tube pins to be sure that you insert them correctly. It is possible to force the tube pins into the socket the wrong way if you are not careful! If you install the tube wrong you will probably damage the amplifier and the tube. This damage will not be covered by the manufacturers warranty for a new amplifier. If you have any doubts about this, have the 300B tube installed by your dealer.

CAD 211 AE specifications

Cary Audio Design has long been celebrated for its commitment to high-quality audio and innovative engineering. The CAD 211 AE is the latest addition to their prestigious lineup of amplifiers, offering an array of features and technologies designed to deliver exceptional sound quality and performance.

At the heart of the CAD 211 AE is its robust design, which utilizes a push-pull configuration with vacuum tubes. This configuration not only provides a rich, warm sound characteristic of tube amplifiers but also enhances linearity and minimizes distortion, making it suitable for audiophiles who seek detail and clarity in their listening experience. The amplifier is equipped with a pair of KT120 power tubes, known for their reliability and impressive output. These tubes allow the CAD 211 AE to achieve 100 watts per channel, providing ample power to drive even the most demanding speakers with ease.

The CAD 211 AE features Cary's proprietary Dual-Mono circuitry design, which ensures that each channel operates independently. This design minimizes crosstalk and maximizes stereo imaging, creating a more immersive soundstage. The circuitry is also equipped with high-quality components, including custom-made transformers and an advanced power supply, which further enhance the amplifier's overall performance.

One of the standout attributes of the CAD 211 AE is its ability to operate in both triode and ultralinear modes. The selection between these modes allows users to tailor the sound to their preferences – whether they seek the lush, warm sound of triode operation or the dynamic range and power of ultralinear. This flexibility makes the CAD 211 AE suitable for a wide variety of musical genres, from classical to rock.

Cary Audio has also prioritized user experience with the CAD 211 AE. The amplifier comes with a sleek, modern chassis that not only looks stunning but also minimizes resonance and vibration. The front panel features elegant knobs and indicators, making it intuitive for users to adjust settings and monitor performance.

In addition to its impressive audio capabilities, the CAD 211 AE emphasizes reliability and longevity. Its robust construction and attention to detail ensure that users can enjoy their music without worry of premature failure or the need for frequent maintenance.

Overall, the Cary Audio Design CAD 211 AE stands out as a remarkable amplifier that combines cutting-edge technology with timeless craftsmanship. Its rich sound, flexibility in operation, and attention to detail make it a compelling choice for any serious audio enthusiast looking to elevate their listening experience.
