Trouble Shooting

Protection Mode

A sophisticated monitoring circuit controls the operation of the amplifier. When an error is detected, the amplifier shuts down into protection mode immediately and indicates the status by flashing the Lyngdorf logo.

Protection mode can be triggered by:

1.Overload/short-circuit of the speaker outputs (limits current to approx. 35 Amps)

2.DC defected at the speaker outputs; this can be due to extreme program material.

3.Internal power failure burned fuses etc.

4.Mains supply voltage is too low or too high.

5.Overheating of the amplifier.

Most problems are temporary

Most of the above mentioned error conditions are normally temporary. When the Millennium goes into protection mode, switch off the power and inspect the amplifier. Check the speaker cables, feel if the cover is very hot. Turn on the amplifier again to see if normal operation mode may be resumed.

If the error condition persists, the Millennium will return to protection mode immediately. If this is the case, the Millennium needs authorised service.

NOTE:

No bridge coupling is possible.

The frequency response of the Millennium extends down to DC. Playback of material with extreme infrasonic program material may cause the amp to go into protection mode in order to protect the speakers.
