Async Fiber Optic Mini Modem

When you need to connect full- or half-duplex async

computers and terminals, choose the Async Fiber Optic Mini Modem. A pair of these modems can drive data over multimode fiberoptic cable up to 2 miles (more than 3 km) at data rates up to 19.2 Kbps.

Special circuitry allows the modem to operate without external power, by deriving ultra-low power from the DTE data and control signals on the interface.

And you can configure the modem for continuous or controlled carrier to suit your application.

Setting the modem for DCE or DTE operation is a breeze, too. Simply move the handy DCE/DTE switch to the desired position.

For proper operation, remember that modems must be used in pairs.

Typical Application

Connect an async computer to an async terminal via a pair of Async Fiber Optic Mini Modems.
