Replacing the Cooling Assembly

Procedure

1Clean the grease from the bottom of the cooling assembly and reapply it.

2Align the screw holes on the cooling assembly with the screw holes on the system board.

3In sequential order (indicated on the heat-sink), replace the screws that secure the cooling assembly to the system board

Postrequisites

1Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 10 in "Replacing the System Board" on page 43.

2Replace the palm-rest. See "Replacing the Palm-Rest" on page 33.

3Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 19.

4Replace the base cover. See "Replacing the Base Cover" on page 21.

5Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 4 in "Replacing the Optical Drive" on page 16.

6Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 5 in "Replacing the Hard Drive" on page 27.

7Replace the battery. See "Replacing the Battery" on page 13.
