Removing the Hinge Cover

Replacing the Hinge Cover

CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, read the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.

CAUTION: To prevent static damage to components inside your computer, discharge static electricity from your body before you touch any of your computer's electronic components. You can do so by touching an unpainted metal surface.

NOTICE: The hinge cover is fragile and can be damaged if extreme force is used. Be careful when removing the hinge cover.

Removing the Hinge Cover

1.Follow the instructions in Before Working Inside Your Computer.

2.Turn the computer right-side up, and then open the display all the way (180 degrees) so that it rests on your work surface.

NOTICE: To avoid damaging the hinge cover, do not lift the cover on both sides simultaneously.

3. Insert a scribe in the indent to lift the hinge cover on the right side.

4. Ease the hinge cover up, moving from right to left, and remove it.

Replacing the Hinge Cover

1.Insert the left edge of the cover into place.

2.Press from left to right until the cover snaps into place.

3.Close the display and turn the computer upside-down.

4.Replace the battery. See Replacing the Battery.
