Windows Vista / Server 2008

TheeSATAIIExpressCard willappearintheSafelyRemove Hardware utility only if it is plugged into the computer before booting up Windows.

1.The utility is located in the taskbar by the system clock.

2.Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.

3.Click Safely remove Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller.

4.At the Safe To Remove Hardware box, click OK. It is now safe to remove the eSATA II ExpressCard.

Note: If the eSATA II ExpressCard does not appear in the Safely Remove Hardware utility, the connected hard disk drive(s) must first be stopped before removing it from the ExpressCard slot. Not stopping the hard drives prior to removal may corrupt or destroy any data on the hard disk drive. See Safely Remove External Hard Disk Drives on page 5 for more information.

Windows XP / Server 2003 / 2000

1.The utility is located in the taskbar by the system clock.

For Windows XP / Server 2003 & 2008: Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.

For Windows 2000: Click the Unplug or Eject Hardware icon.

2.Click Safely remove Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller.

3.Wait for the Safe to Remove Hardware pop-up box to appear before removing the eSATA II ExpressCard from the ExpressCard slot.
