4.You can now unplug the hard disk.

Note: When reconnecting a Disabled hard disk, it must be enabled, otherwise, it will not work properly in Windows. To enable the hard disk, follow steps 1-3. At step #3, select Enable.

Assigning a Drive Letter in Windows

Windows may not assign a drive letter to a hard drive enclosure that was partitioned and formatted in a different computer. If this happens when you connect your enclosure, follow the directions below to assign it a drive letter. The steps, written from Windows Server 2003, are similar in all Windows versions.

1.Right click My Computer, click Manage, click Disk Management. In this window look for a Healthy disk without a name and drive letter assigned to it, See Figure 2 below.
