Setting up the Modem involves two basic steps: connecting a computer to the Modem, and configuring the Modem to activate the DSL connection and load the software drivers.

Connecting a Computer to the Modem

The instructions in this section parallel the steps contained in the Actiontec Installation Buddy, which provides a visual guide to connecting the Modem to a computer and installing phone filters. It is recommended the user run the Installation Buddy first, before attempting any other procedures.

To connect the Modem to a computer:

1.Insert the Actiontec Installation Buddy CD-ROMin the CD-ROMdrive of the computer. The Installation Buddy will start automatically. Wait until the fol- lowing screen appears in your Internet browser window, read the onscreen instructions, then click Next.
