Write-Protecting a Diskette

The write-protect tab on a standard 3.5-inch diskette serves the purpose of not allowing you to save data to or delete data from the diskette.

The write-protect tab functions the same way as on a standard 3.5-inch diskette. If the hole is covered, you can read and write to the diskette. If the hole is open, you can only read from the diskette.
