Using software

Playing DVD movies

When the DVD drive module is installed in the optical drive bay, you can play DVD movies on your computer.

1 Eject the DVD tray and insert a DVD movie disk; then close the DVD tray.

Important! When you launch the DVD player for the first time, the program asks you to enter the region code. DVD disks are divided into 6 regions. Once your DVD drive is set to a region code, it will play DVD disks of that region only. You can set the region code a maximum of five times (including the first time), after which the last region code set will remain permanent. Recovering your hard disk does not reset the number of times the region code has been set. Refer to the table below for DVD movie region code information.

2 The DVD movie will automatically play after a few seconds.

3020 Series, 5020 Series specifications

The Acer 5020 and 3020 Series laptops are part of Acer's commitment to delivering quality performance and reliable features for everyday computing needs. Designed for both personal and professional use, these series combine affordability with functionality, making them an appealing choice for users at all levels.

The Acer 5020 Series is most notable for its robust performance, thanks to its integration of the AMD Turion 64 mobile technology. This series is equipped with a dual-core processor that enhances multitasking capabilities, allowing users to run various applications simultaneously without sacrificing speed or efficiency. The incorporation of AMD graphics offers improved visual performance for tasks ranging from casual gaming to graphic design.

One of the standout features of the Acer 5020 Series is its display. The laptops come with a 15.4-inch screen that provides vibrant colors and sharp image quality, making it ideal for watching movies or working on visuals. Additionally, the ergonomic keyboard design ensures comfortable typing over extended periods, while the touchpad offers smooth navigation.

Connectivity is another defining characteristic of the 5020 Series. With multiple USB ports, a built-in webcam, and options for wireless connectivity such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, users can easily connect to various devices, share files, and participate in video conferences. The inclusion of a DVD burner provides added versatility for media playback and data storage.

On the other hand, the Acer 3020 Series caters to those seeking a more budget-friendly option without compromising on essential features. Similar to the 5020, the 3020 Series incorporates AMD Sempron processors, which deliver adequate performance for everyday tasks like web browsing, word processing, and streaming.

The 3020 Series also boasts a 15.4-inch display, though it may not have the same level of graphical support as the 5020. However, it is designed for optimal energy efficiency, translating into longer battery lifeā€”an essential aspect for users who are frequently on the go.

Both series prioritize user-friendly features, such as easy maintenance and upgradeability. Acer also focuses on durability, ensuring that the laptops are built to withstand the rigors of daily use. Overall, the Acer 5020 and 3020 Series laptops provide a harmonious blend of performance, portability, and affordability, appealing to a broad range of users looking for dependable computing solutions.
