Hooking Up Your Mythos Loudspeakers

Your Mythos loudspeakers each have one pair of gold 5-way binding posts. Normally, you will hook up the left main/front channel red(+) terminal of your receiver or amplifier to the red(+) terminal of your left Mythos loudspeaker and the left main/front channel black(-) terminal of your receiver or amplifier to the black(-) terminal of your left Mythos loudspeaker. Connect the right channel main/front channel red(+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red(+) terminal of your right Mythos loudspeaker and the black(-) terminal of the right main/front channel of your receiver or amplifier to the black(-) terminal of your right Mythos loudspeaker.

If you are using the Mythos as a center channel, connect the center channel red(+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red(+) terminal of your Mythos center channel speaker and the black (-) terminal of the center channel of your receiver or amplifier to the black(-) terminal of your Mythos center channel loudspeaker.

If you are using the Mythos as side/rear surround speakers, hook up the left surround red(+) terminal of your receiver or amplifier to the red(+) terminal of your Mythos left surround speaker and the left sur- round black(-) terminal of your receiver or amplifier to the black(-) terminal of your Mythos left surround speaker. Connect the right sur- round red(+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red(+) termi- nal of your Mythos right surround loudspeaker and the black(-) termi- nal of the right surround channel of your receiver or amplifier to the black(-) terminal of your Mythos right surround loudspeaker.

If your receiver/ decoder has a bass management system and you are using a separate subwoofer, set bass management to “Small” left and right main speakers, “Small” center channel, “Small” surround speakers and “Yes” subwoofer. If your receiver/decoder has a choice of crossover frequencies, set the crossover to 80 Hz or 100 Hz if avail- able (for greater dynamic range). If you are not using a separate sub- woofer, set bass management to “Large” left and right main speakers, “Large” center channel and “Large”surround speakers, and “No” sub- woofer. We strongly recommend the use of a separate subwoofer.

Six, Seven specifications

Definitive Technology is renowned for producing high-quality audio equipment that blends innovative technology with exceptional sound performance. Among their notable offerings are the Definitive Technology Seven and Six speakers, which stand out due to their remarkable features and advanced engineering.

The Definitive Technology Seven, recognized for its impressive soundstage and deep bass response, is designed to cater to audiophiles and casual listeners alike. One of the key features of the Seven is its use of the Balanced Double Surround System (BDSS) technology. This technology enables the speaker to deliver a more expansive sound field, ensuring that music and sound effects are heard uniformly throughout the room.

Equipped with a 1-inch aluminum tweeter and a 6.5-inch mid/bass driver, the Seven provides clarity and precision in high-frequency sounds while maintaining rich and full-bodied midrange and bass. The speaker’s advanced frequency response allows for smooth transitions across the audio spectrum, enhancing the listening experience, whether it be for music, movies, or gaming.

On the other hand, the Definitive Technology Six offers a slightly more compact design while retaining much of the high-fidelity performance that the brand is known for. The Six features a similar BDSS technology and includes a 1-inch aluminum tweeter paired with a 5.25-inch midrange driver. This combination allows the Six to deliver crystal-clear highs and responsive bass, making it a perfect choice for smaller spaces or as part of a surround sound system.

Both models are designed with aesthetics in mind, featuring sleek, modern lines that easily blend with any décor while their sturdy enclosure minimizes vibrations, thereby enhancing sound quality. Additionally, the speakers come equipped with a front-firing bass port, which allows for greater flexibility in placement, reducing the need for significant distance from walls or corners.

Further elevating their appeal, the Seven and Six are designed with versatility in mind. They can function as standalone speakers or as part of a larger home theater setup, making them a popular choice for those seeking to build an immersive audio experience.

In summary, the Definitive Technology Seven and Six speakers combine advanced technologies with outstanding audio performance, making them excellent choices for all audio enthusiasts looking for reliable and exceptional sound systems. Whether it's the spacious soundstage of the Seven or the compact yet powerful design of the Six, these speakers provide a remarkable listening experience that caters to a wide range of user needs.
