Security

The PIN input screen appears, Enter your 4 digit PIN number.

 

<V-Chip>

 

The <V-Chip> feature automatically locks out programs that are deemed inappropriate for

 

children. The user must enter a PIN (personal ID number) before any of the <V-Chip> restrictions

 

are set up or changed.

<V-Chip> function is not available in <HDMI>, <Component> or <PC> mode.

The default PIN number of a new TV set is 0-0-0-0.

If you forget the PIN, press the remote-control buttons in the following sequence, which resets the pin to 0-0-0-0 : [POWER] (off)→[MUTE]→8→2→4→[POWER] (on).

<Allow all>: Press to unlock all TV ratings.

<Block all>: Press to lock all TV ratings.

<V-Chip Lock> - You can block rated TV Programs.

<Off> - <On>

<TV Parental Guidelines> - You can block TV programs depending on their rating. This function allows you to control what your children are watching.

<MPAA Rating> - You can block movies depending on their <MPAA rating>. The Motion Picture Association of America(MPAA) has implemented a rating system that provides parents or guardians with information on which films are appropriate for children.

<Canadian English> - You can block TV programs depending on their Canadian English rating.

<Canadian French> - You can block TV programs depending on their French Canadian rating.

<Downloadable U.S. Rating> - Parental restriction information can be used while watching DTV channels.

<Change PIN> - The <Change PIN> screen will appear. Choose any 4 digits for your PIN and enter them.

As soon as the 4 digits are entered, the <Confirm New PIN> screen appears. Re enter the same 4 digits. When the Confirm screen disappears, your PIN has been memorized.

How to Reset the TV after the V-Chip Blocks a Channel (“Emergency Escape”)

-If the TV is tuned to a restricted channel, the V-Chip will block it. The screen will go blank and the following message will appear:

<This channel is blocked by a Parental Lock.> <Press enter the PIN to unblock.> Enter your PIN,

then press the button [ ] button and press the ▲or▼ button to temporarily disable the <V-Chip Lock>.

<Change PIN>

You can change your personal ID number that is required to set up the TV.

Before the setup screen appears, the PIN number input screen appears. Enter your 4digit PIN number.

The default PIN number of a new TV set is 0-0-0-0.
