2STANDBY indicator

Lights when the power cord is connected and the unit is on standby. When the unit is turned on, the STANDBY indicator goes off.

Produces a simulated surround effect.

4Remote sensor

Receives the signal from the remote control unit.

5Display window

Indicates the current status of the unit.

Starts playback. Also, used as a SELECT button for PBC of Video CDs.

8 8 (PAUSE) button (18)

Pauses playback.

9SHUTTLE knob (18)

Performs rapid advance/reverse playback operations. Also used for slow-motion playback of a picture (for DVD/ SVCD/Video CD).

04/¢ (SKIP) buttons (19)

Perform skipping a chapter, title or track.

Also used for the page selection of a menu screen (for DVD).

Opens and closes the disc tray.
