G	General audiences. All ages admitted.
PG	Parental Guidance suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children.
PG-13	Parental strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.

RRestricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.

NC-17 No one 17 and under admitted.

X	X is older rating that is unified with NC-17 but may be encoded in the data of older movies.

This function lets parents control the content of what their children watch on TV based on FCC data.

Restrictions are based on MPAA ratings, TV Parental Guidelines, MPAA rating restrictions by age, and TV Parental Guideline restrictions by age and content.

Accessing the V-Chip setting is password protected. See page 19 for password information.

If PG in the MPAA rating is blocked, higher ratings (PG-13, R, NC-17 and X) are blocked automatically.

So, you can prevent the children from watching the program rated PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, and X in this case.

- If TV-Y7 in the age-based rating is set to Block, this will automatically block the higher ratings ;TV-G,TV-PG, TV-

14and TV-MA. In addition, all of Content base Rating items are automatically blocked unless you set the Content base Rating ; FV, D, L, S, V, DL(D+L), DS(D+S), DV(D+V), LS(L+S), LV(L+V), SV(S+V), DLS(D+L+S), DLV(D+L+V), DSV(D+S+V), LSV(L+S+V), DLSV(D+L+S+V).

•Age-based ratings can be modified by the content-based ratings, but only in the combinations indicated by an ✔ in the table above and sentence above.

•Setting a lower age-based rating blocks the higher age-based ratings regardless of the content rating settings.
