Problems with V-Chip/Parental Controls

The rating limits don’t work

You must lock the settings. Go to the TV MAIN MENU (press MENU on your remote), select Parental Controls (press 4 on your remote). Then select Parental Controls again (press 4 on your remote).

I don’t remember my password and I want to unlock the TV

If you forget your password, the password can be reset to 0000 by pressing and holding the volume down and the channel up buttons on your front panel simultaneously for five seconds. Using this password, you can then access the V-Chip menus.

The V-Chip won’t let me watch a program even though it’s not rated as violent.

Maybe the movie was given an NR (Not Rated) status. After you block movie ratings, you must set NR to View separately in order to view movies with an NR rating.

The Front of Your TV – Front Panel

If you cannot locate your remote you can use the front panel of your TV to operate many of the TV’s features.

MENU Brings up the Main menu. When in the menu system, it selects highlighted items. Also returns you to the previous menu.

CH – Scans down through the current channel list. When you’re using the TV’s menu system, it acts like the arrow down button on the remote control.

CH + Scans up through the channel list. When you’re using the TV’s menu system, it acts like the arrow up button on the remote control.

– (volume down) Decreases the volume. When you’re using the TV’s menu system, it acts like the left arrow button on the remote control.

+ (volume up) Increases the volume. When you’re using the TV’s menu system, it acts like the right arrow button on the remote control.
