Tuner
Problem | Remedy |
Considerable noise in radio | • Tune into the correct frequency. |
broadcasts. | • Connect the antenna (refer to the Setup Guide). |
| • Fully extend the FM wire antenna, position for best reception, |
| and secure to a wall. |
| • Connect an outdoor FM antenna (page 61). |
| • Adjust the direction and position for best reception. |
| • Connect an additional internal or external AM antenna (refer |

| • Turn off any other equipment that may be causing the noise or |
| move it away from the unit. |
| • The tuning interval is incorrect for your country or region. Try |
| switching the tuning interval (frequency step) (page 57). |

Auto tuning does not pick up | • The radio signal is weak. Auto tuning will only detect radio |
some stations. | stations with a good signal. For more sensitive tuning, connect |
| an outdoor antenna. |

Sound is mono only. | • Check that the tuner is not set to FM mono (page 35). |

Error Messages
Message | Desciption |
CHILD LOCK | • This message appears when the front panel buttons are |
| pressed when the child lock feature is active. See Child Lock on |
| page 58 for more on switching on/off the child lock. |

CAN’T USE | • This message appears when it is not possible to output the test |
| tone. Make sure the system is not muted, the headphones are |
| not plugged in, and neither the AUTO or STEREO Surround |
| mode is selected to output the test tone. See also Setting the |
| relative volume level of each channel on page 41. |
| • This message appears when you try to use the bass mode |
| when the headphones are connected. |

96K STEREO or | • This message appears when the source sampling rate is 96kHz |
96KHZ STEREO (OSD only) | and you try to choose a Surround/Advanced Surround listening |
| mode or try to adjust the bass or treble. |
