Setting Up the VCR

Startup

10. Set the display panel brightness.

This VCR lets you change the brightness level of the fluorescent display panel.

A. Press MENU on remote to see the VCR MAIN MENU.

B. Press 4 to display the PREFERENCES menu.

C. Press 4 to select a FRONT PANEL mode.

Select AUTO to keep the display panel bright when VCR is on and dim when it is off.

Select BRITE to keep the display panel bright.

Select DIM to keep the display panel dim.

11.Set the time and date.

When you first turn on the VCR, -:--appears in the clock area of the

VCR’s display panel.

A. Press MENU on remote to display VCR MAIN MENU. B. Press 2 to display SET CLOCK.

C. Enter the time and date with the number buttons on the remote.

Press 0 before single-digit numbers.

Example: press 0, then 5, then 0, then 7 for a time of 5:07. Press 1 for AM or 2 for PM.

Press CLEAR on the remote to change incorrect entries.

D. Press MENU on the remote to start the clock and remove the SET CLOCK menu from the screen. The time appears in the VCR’s display panel, and the time and date appear on the TV screen when you press DISP on remote.

12. Set the Automatic Daylight-Saving Time

Select this feature if you want the VCR’s clock to advance one hour in April and reverse one hour in October automatically.

A. Press MENU on the remote to display the VCR MAIN MENU.

B. Press 4 to display the PREFERENCES menu.

C. Press 5 to select a AUTO DST mode.

Select ON if you want the VCR’s clock to adjust for Daylight Saving Time automatically.

Select OFF if you do not want the VCR’s clock to adjust for Daylight Saving Time automatically.

In the Spring, daylight-saving time begins on the first Sunday in

April. Clocks are set forward one hour.

Because the clock changes automatically from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM, keep in mind that any part of a scheduled Timer Recording that falls between these two times will not be recorded.

In the autumn, daylight-saving time begins on the last Sunday in

October. Clocks are set back one hour.

The VCR clock automatically changes from 2:00 AM to 1:00 AM.

Therefore, it affects your recording length.
