B.E.S.T. Picture System

Turn on the TV and select the VIDEO channel (or AV mode).

The B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalised Signal Tracking) system checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and playback, and compensates to provide the highest-possible recording and playback pictures. The default setting for both recording and playback is “ON”.

Preparation

1		LOAD A CASSETTE
		Insert a cassette with the record safety tab intact.
		● The recorder power comes on automatically.
		ACCESS MAIN MENU
2		SCREEN
		Press MENU.
		ACCESS FUNCTION SET
3		SCREEN
		Place the pointer next to	MAIN MENU
		"FUNCTION SET" by
			FUNCTION SET
		pressing PUSH JOG %Þ,
			TUNER SET
		then press OK or PUSH	INITIAL SET
		JOGÞ.
			[5/°] =
			[MENU] : EXIT
4		SELECT MODE
		Place the pointer next to	FUNCTION SET
		"B.E.S.T." by pressing
			O.S.D.	ON
		PUSH JOG %Þ, then press
		OK or PUSH JOGÞto set	AUTO TIMER	OFF
			B.E.S.T.	ON
	to "ON" or "OFF".
			AUTO SP=LP TIMER	OFF
			[5/°] =
			[MENU] : EXIT
		RETURN TO NORMAL
5		SCREEN
		Press MENU.

You can also turn on/off the B.E.S.T. system by simply pressing the B.E.S.T. PICTURE button on the recorder.

1Press B.E.S.T. PICTURE so that the B.E.S.T. PICTURE indicator lights up.

●The B.E.S.T. system is activated and the "B.E.S.T." setting at the Function Set screen will also be set to "ON".

2To turn off the B.E.S.T. system, press the B.E.S.T. PICTURE button again so that the B.E.S.T. PICTURE indicator goes off.

● The "B.E.S.T." setting at the Function Set screen will

also be set to "OFF".
