Note: Restart the host computer to recognize new and exchanged devices.

6.2Exchanging Drives

The procedure to exchange drives is similar to adding drives described in the previous section. However, use the drive exchange command to eliminate possible bay and ID assignment errors.

Note: It is best to duplicate the existing drive’s SCSI ID and termination switch settings to the new drive.

1.Enter the System Administrator.

2.Enter the Door submode to open the rear access panel. The following message appears on the LCD display:

3.Return to the System Administrator mode.
