16:9 (WIDE): Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected. • The displayable picture size is preset on the DVD video

4:3 (NORMAL): Select when a 4:3 normal TV is connected. disc. Therefore, the playback picture of some DVD video discs may not conform to the picture size you select.

• When you play DVD video discs recorded in the 4:3 picture size only, the playback picture always appears in the 4:3 picture size regardless of the TV shape setting.

PS (PAN-SCAN):

Displays pictures cropped to fill your TV screen. Either or both sides of the picture are cut off.

LB (LETTER BOX):

Displays theatrical images with masking bars above and below the picture.

Pressing the PS/LB button during playback or slow motion playback allows switching of the Pan-scan and the Letterbox temporarily.

The switching of the PS and LB can not be made unless the disc is recorded in a 16:9 and supports the PS/LB switching.
