Playing Karaoke discs

IMPORTANT!

You have to turn on your TV and set to the correct Video In channel. (See page 17 ‘Finding your viewing channel’).

General Operation

AConnect a microphone (not supplied) to MIC on the front panel of the DVD player.

BLoad a karaoke disc.

CPress KARAOKE repeatedly to access Karaoke menu MIC On/Off.

‘MIC On/Off’ appears on the TV screen.

Press W X to turn ‘On’ or ‘Off’ the microphone.

DAdjust the microphone volume up or down using MIC LEVEL button on the side panel of the DVD player.

Tip:

– Before connecting the microphone, set the microphone volume to the minumum level to prevent howling.

Vocal

You can fade out the original vocal from a karaoke disc.

Press VOCAL repeatedly to choose different audio modes.

Tip:

This function and on-screen display depends on the availability of the disc.

Karaoke menu

Press KARAOKE repeatedly to toggle between ‘MIC’, ‘Vol’, ‘Echo’, ‘Key’ or ‘Karaoke Scoring’.

AWhen ‘MIC’ is selected, press W X to set ‘Mic On/Off’.

BWhen ‘Vol’ is selected, press W X to adjust the vocal value between 0 and 20.

CWhen ‘Echo’ is selected, press W X to adjust the echo level between 0 and 20.

DWhen ‘Key’ is selected, press W X to adjust the pitch value between -16 and 16.

This function allows you to adjust the key tone level to match your vocal.

Karaoke Scoring

This scoring function enables you to compete your scores.

When ‘Karaoke Scoring’ is selected, press W X to select the scoring ranks.

{Off} – {Basic} – {Intermediate} – {Advance}

Karaoke score will only appear on the TV screen when user scores 30 points and above at the end of each song.

The message ‘Good effort, try harder again’ will appear if scoring less than 30 points.

Playback will be paused and will not resume during scoring. Press OK to exit this scoring pause mode.

Press PREV í / NEXT ë, the current track scoring will be skipped.

Tip:

– The Karaoke score function is only available in DVD and VCD discs.
