Multipoint digital convergence

Designed to meet the demands of curved CRT faceplates and short focal length lenses, our expansive 35-point convergence brings with it the accuracy of digital technology for flawless convergence of red, green, and blue guns and a superb picture with no colored haloes.

Automatic Phosphor Aging Compensation — APAC Non-moving images can be bad for a television screen. If a video image remains stationary, it can eventually leave a permanent after-image on the screen.Video games and the stationary black bars which outline standard 4:3 programming on a widescreen TV compound this problem. Now, Philips has found a way to combat this problem through APAC technology. Periodically, APAC automatically shifts your television picture in very small increments, but increments large enough to blur image retention. Coupled with the Philips Auto Format feature, you have excellent protection from the dreaded screen burn.Think of it as a screen saver for your TV.

Active Control™

Continuous picture analysis and control of Automatic Digital Noise Reduction and Auto Sharpness. Automatically offers the best picture settings.The demo menu shows real-time adjustments of two parameters based on picture content.

Eye Fidelity — Progressive Scan/Interlaced

Eye Fidelity gives the consumer a choice between two different scanning techniques — Progressive Scan and Interlaced. Progressive Scan doubles the number of visible picture lines per field by displaying all picture frame lines at once — also eliminating line flicker.The Interlaced mode provides for a double vertical display (interlaced) of Progressive Scan, which reduces annoying motion artifacts.The Interlaced mode also helps smooth out jagged lines sometimes seen on curved and angled surfaces.

Protective screen filter

This filter has been specifically formulated by Philips for HD displays to give the best possible picture and still protect your investment.The protective screen filter helps prevent accidental damage to the delicate front Lenticular screen.

High definition component input

Supports HD video input for superb color purity, crisp color detail, and reduced color noise - Includes separate inputs for Y, Pb, Pr, horizontal sync and vertical sync.

3 line digital comb filter

Improved chroma/luminance separation over standard two-line glass comb filters for a difference you can really see. Offering vertical edge enhancement and virtually no "dot crawl," it easily supports the demands of DVD video players,Web browsers, and other advanced, high resolution video media programming information for all television program listings, plot (through A/V inputs).

Picture-In-Picture

Used in conjunction with a second video source such as a DVD, VCR, or cable tuner, picture-in-picture allows you to monitor one TV channel while watching another; monitor a DVD or tape playback while watching another program, or monitor a TV channel while viewing an external source. Plus the main and secondary pictures may be swapped. In all cases, the main picture is provided with its corresponding audio.
