Remote Control Buttons (cont’d) 25

VCR/TV Button Use to select the signal that your TV receives.

VCR Position Use to watch a tape, to watch a program while recording it, or to watch a TV broadcast using the CH(annel) o/p or Number but- tons to change channels at the VCR. If the VCR light appears on the display panel of the VCR, it is in VCR position.

TV Position Use to watch TV (changing channels at the TV) or to watch one pro- gram while recording another. Details are on page 32. If the VCR light doesn’t appear on the display panel of the VCR, it is in TV position.

REW(ind)/{ Button

When tape playback is stopped, press to rewind the tape at high speed. During playback, press to rewind the tape while the picture stays on the screen. Details are on page 46. Or, if you have a Magnavox, Philips, or Philips Magnavox TV, use the REW(ind) button to adjust the controls in the TV menu.

STOP/p Button Press to stop the tape. Press to select an item in the VCR menu. Or, if you have a Magnavox, Philips, or Philips Magnavox TV, press when in TV mode to select an item in the TV menu.

VCR PLUS+/ENTER Button

Press to set a timer recording with the VCR Plus+ programming system. Details are on pages 38-41.

Or, press after pressing the Number buttons to select a channel at the TV or the Cable Box. Details are on pages 22-23.

TIME SEARCH Button Press to fast forward or rewind the tape a specific length of time.

Details are on page 45.

ALT. CH (Alternate Channel) Button Press while in TV position to return to the TV channel you were viewing immediately before switching to your current channel. This button does not have an effect on channels changed at the VCR.

CH(annel) o/p Button Press to change channels at the VCR, TV, Cable Box, or Direct Broadcast System.

STATUS/EXIT Button Press to access or remove the on-screen status display. Details are on page 26. Press to exit on-screen menus. Or, if you have a Magnavox, Philips, or Philips Magnavox TV, press the TV button, then press the STATUS/EXIT button to see a TV status display or to remove the TV

menu.

CLEAR Button Press to erase incorrect data when programming VCR functions. Also, press to reset the real-time counter. Details are on page 44.

F.FWD(Fast Forward)/B Button When playback is stopped, press to fast forward the tape at high speed. During playback, press to fast forward the tape while the picture stays on-screen. Details are on page 46. Or, if you have a Magnavox, Philips, or Philips Magnavox TV, use to adjust the controls in the TV

CBL/DBS Button Press to operate the Cable Box or Direct Broadcast System. Details are on page 23.
