UsingtheTuner

1.Press the Tuner FM/AM button on the front panel or remote control to selectTunermode.

2.PresstheTunerFM/AMbuttonagaintoselectFMorAMifdesired.

3.Press the Mode/Storebutton on the front panel (or Modebutton on the remotecontrol)toselectautomatictuning,manualtuningorpresetmode.

4.PresstheTuning+andTuning-buttons(ortheleftandrightarrowbuttons ontheremote)toselectthestationyouwanttolistento.

Inautomatictuningmodetheunitscanstothenextstrongstation.Inmanual tuning mode the user can step manually through the frequencies. In preset modetheunitcyclesthroughthepresetsonly.

Two FM modes are available, stereo and mono - Press the Stereo Mono buttonontheremotetoalternatebetweenStereomodeandMonomode.If theDisplaybuttonispressed,theRDSstationnamesofFMstationswillbe displayedifavailable.

Storingstations

1.Tuneinastationyouwishtostoreasexplainedpreviously.

2.Press and hold the Mode/Store button (or use the Store button on the remote)for5seconds.

3.Use the Tuning+/-buttons to select a preset station number (1-15). The stationnumberwillbedisplayedonthescreen.

4.Press the Mode/Storebutton (or use the Storebutton on the remote) to memorisethefrequency.

RadioDataSystems(RDS)

RDS is a method for the transmission of additional information from local radiostations.ItisonlyavailableinFMmode.RDSwillonlyworkifthelocal broadcasting stations have RDS transmission and the signal is strong enough.

PresstheInfobuttonontheremoteandgothroughthedisplayedfunctions. TherearefunctionsforPS,PTY,CTandRT:

PS(StationName)-currentstationnamewillbeshown

PTY(ProgramType)-currentnametypeoftheprogramwillbeshown CT(Clock/Time)-currenttimefromRadioStationwillbedisplayed.

Note: Clock/Time will be only transmitted from local radio station once a minute.IftheClock-Timeisnotavailablethemessage“NOCT”willappear brieflyonthedisplay.

RT(Radiotext)-someTextmessageswillbeshown.

Lipsync

The 551R can if required apply a small delay to the audio playback to resynchroniseittoanyvideoplaybackwhichappearstobebehindtheaudio intime.

ThiscansometimeshappenifthevideoisslightlydelayedbyaplayerorTV performingalotofvideoprocessing.

Pressing the Lip Sync button on the remote will bring up the current Lip Sync value on the 551Rs main display and allow adjustmentsin10mS(10thousandthsofasecond)increments.

SettingtheLipsyncvalueto0causesLipSyncdelaytobeturnedoff.
