Ready the camera

Hold the camera steadily in both hands.

Frame your subject

Use the zoom buttons to frame your subject against the background.

Indicator in monitor shows amount of zoom while either button is pressed

When the camera is zoomed all the way in, holding the button down for about two seconds extends the zoom range digitally (digital zoom; 57). The zoom indicator turns yellow when digital zoom is in effect.
