Getting Sharper Pictures: BSS (Best Shot Selector)

The “Best Shot Selector” (BSS) is recommended for situations in which inadvertent camera movement can produce blurred pictures, for example when:

the camera is zoomed in

the flash can not be used although lighting is poor

BSS may not produce the desired results with a moving subject or if you change the composition while the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down.

Camera takes photos as long as the shutter-release button is

 

held down, to a maximum of ten. These images are then com-

pared and the sharpest photo (the image with the highest level

of detail) saved to the memory card. The flash turns off, and

 

 

focus distance, exposure, and auto white balance are determined

 

by the first photograph in the series.

Fine-Tuning Camera Settings

When BSS is on, a BSS icon appears in the monitor.

Restrictions on BSS

BSS is not available at CONTINUOUS settings other than Single. Selecting Continuous or Multi-Shot 16 automatically cancels BSS.
