This chapter gives the information and explains the function of the data volume the user stores. In order for data to be saved on to LG Network Storage, volume must be set up. If the volume is not configured, you can- not connect to the network drive nor use functions such as backing up using USB or an optical disk.

This product provides the following 5 volume configuration methods for the user’s requirement

-RAID 0(Stripping)

-RAID 1(Mirroring) for important data

-linear(JBOD) volume

-RAID 1(Mirroring) + RAID 0(Stripping)

-Individual disks(disk1,disk2)

When you first purchase the product, the volume is already organized. Therefore please use this menu only when you wish to change the volume organization set-up.

When organizing a volume, certain section of the hard disk is assigned as a system section of LG Network Storage. Consequently a capacity of the volume after the volume organization appears smaller than the capacity of the hard disk.
