Taking pictures/videos

Using the flash

Press the flash button repeatedly to scroll through flash modes.

The current flash mode is shown in the LCD status area.

Flash fires

Auto When the lighting conditions require it.

		Every time you take a picture, regardless of the lighting conditions. Use
	Fill	when the subject is in shadow or is “backlit” (when the light is behind
	Fill	the subject). In low light, hold the camera steady or use a tripod.

NOTE: (Not available in Smart Capture mode.)

Red Eye Once to shrink the eye pupil, then again to light the subject.

Off Never

Your camera saves the flash setting, even after you turn off the camera.
