Taking the device into use

>> Take the device out of the carton and remove all packaging and adhesive foils.

Operation with the built-in Ni-MH batteries

>> First of all, charge up the built-in batteries. For this, fold out the dynamo grip on the rear of the device and turn the dynamo lever f for several minutes at approx. 120 revolu- tions per minute in any direction.

Battery operation

The device can also be operated with batteries (not supplied).

>> Open the battery compartment on the rear of the device by unscrewing and removing the lock-device on the battery compartment cover h.

>> Now remove the battery compartment cover g and place it to one side.

>> Insert 3 x 1.5V batteries of the type "AA/Mignon/LR6" as per the insertion markings shown in the battery compartment.

>> Pay heed to the correct poling of the batteries, otherwise the device will not function and could even be damaged.

>> Replace the battery compartment cover g and screw it down firmly with the lock-device h.

Connecting the mains adapter

You can operate the device with a power adapter (not supplied) that concurs with the specifications given in the section "Technical Data".

>> Using a fingernail, open the rubber cover j.

>> Insert the barrel plug of the power adapter into the socket for the power supply (DC 4.5V) k on the device.
