192kHz/24-Bit DACs for All Channels

This receiver uses extremely high performance 192kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels. They perform accurate sound field reproduction for high quality multi-channel sources, and for two-channel stereo, provide outstanding separation and precise musical delineation. They deliver superior low level linearity with excellent full-scale performance.

This model has three component video inputs instead of the usual one or two. You can enjoy three different sources without having to change connections.

Component Video Up-Conversion Component video up conversion (composite to S-Video and component, S-Video to component) as well as down video conversion (S- Video to composite) is automatically applied to incoming signals.

Digital Video Processing with TBC Analogue Devices’ high performance encoder and decoder digitally processes the video signal to ensure high image quality. A Time Base Corrector (TBC) eliminates time base errors such as curved or bent lines that should be straight.

Quad-Field/Tri-Field CINEMA DSP and 14 Surround Programmes Yamaha’s ultra-sophisticated Quad- Field and Tri-Field CINEMA DSP technology creates thrillingly realistic soundscapes in your room. 14 surround programmes provide full format compatibility and extensive listening choices.

Advanced Facilities

Compressed Music Enhancer When music is encoded in a digital compressed format such as MP3, frequency response suffers in the high and low ranges. Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with our exclusive algorithms to enable playback that improves compressed music quality.

On-Screen Display

The receiver displays operating status, iPod operating commands and radio information (varies by area) on the screen. This is very convenient, because you can change the receiver settings while viewing the screen.

Speaker Design

Choose the NS-P436BG speaker package and you get the convenience of an all-in-one system with high quality speakers. Not only are these speakers perfectly matched for acoustics and design, but they take advantage of unique technologies that Yamaha originally developed for its high-end speakers. With an amplifier or receiver and a DVD player, you’ll enjoy movies with sensational surround sound. What’s more, even with their extremely high quality, these speakers are small enough for easy positioning in rooms of any size.

Advanced Design for High Sound Quality

The satellite (main, rear and rear centre) speakers have a two-way acoustic suspension design with one coaxial two-way driver (5cm cone and 1.3cm dome) plus one full-range driver (5cm cone). The centre speaker has the same coaxial two-way driver, and also includes dual 5cm cone full- range drivers. All seven of these speakers are rated at 100W maximum input, more than enough for dynamic movie sound.
