Off: The last assigned file number is stored and the next available file number is assigned to an image recorded on any CF card, including a new CF card.

1Turn the Mode Dial to the ,,

or position. Press the MENU button.

2Use the and buttons to select [File No. Reset].

3Use the and buttons to select [On] or [Off].

• Press the MENU button to close the menu.

Recording with the File No. Reset option set to Off is convenient when the image files are downloaded to a computer because duplicate file names can be avoided.

File Number Conventions

A photographed image is assigned a number ranging from 0001 to 9900 and stored in a folder containing up to 100 files. The folders are assigned numbers ranging from 100 to 998.
