Here is the procedurefor releasingthe test mode:

1.Pressthe STOP key and stop all operations.

2.Tum off the pov/er switch on the front panel.

Explanation

The laser diode is lit up and the focus actuator is lifted up, then lowered slowly and the focus servo is closed at the point where the objectivelens is focusedon the disc.

With the player in this state,if you lightly rotate the stopped disc by hand, you cao hear the sound the focus servo.

If you can hear this sound,the focus servo is operating correctly. If you press this key with no disc mounted, the laser diode lights up, the focus actuator is pulled up, then the actuator is lowered and raisedthree times and returned to its original position.

Starts the spindlemotor in the clockwisedirection andwhen the disc rotation reachesthe prescribedspeed(about 500rpm at the inner periphery), sets the spindle servo in a closedloop.

Be careful. Plessingthis key when there is no disc mounted makes the spindle motor run at the maximum speed,

If the focus servodoesnot go correctly into a closedloop or the laser light shineson the mirror sectionat the outermost periphery of the disc, the samesymptom is occurred.

Pressingthis key when the focusservoandspindleservoare operating correctly in closedloops puts the tracking servo into a closedloop, displaysthe track number being played back and the elapsedtime on the front panel, and outputs the playback signal.

If the elapsedtime is not displayedor not countedcorrectly or the audio is not played back correctly, it may be that the laseris shining on the sectionwith no soundrecordedat the outer edgeof the disc, that somethingis out of adjustment, or that there is someother problem.

This key is a toggle key and open/close the tracking servo alternately. This key has no elfect if no disc is mounted.
