DVD/VCD VIDEO OPERATION

NOTE: When properly installed, DVD video cannot be displayed on the main TFT screen unless the parking brake is applied. If you attempt to play a DVD while the vehicle is moving, the TFT screen displays “DO NOT WATCH VIDEO WHILE DRIVING” with a black background. Rear video screens, if applicable, will operate normally.

Inserting a Disc

To insert a disc, you must first press the /EJECT button (5) on the control panel or remote control (23) to reveal the disc slot (11). Insert a disc, label side up, into the disc slot. The front panel will close automatically and disc play begins.

NOTE: If Parental Lock (Rating) is activated and the disc inserted is not authorized, the 4-digit code must be entered and/or the disc must be authorized (see “System Setup Menu” on page 11).

You cannot insert a disc if there is already a disc in the unit or if the power is off.

NOTE: The unit is designed for play of standard 5” (12 cm.) discs only. Do not attempt to use 3” (8 cm.) CD singles in this unit, either with or without an adaptor, as damage to the player and/or the disc may occur. Such damage will not be covered by the warranty on this product.

NOTE: DVD-R and DVD-RW will not play unless the recording session is finalized and the DVD is closed.

NOTE: If you do not insert a disc or SD card, you must press the EJECT button to close the control panel.

Ejecting a Disc

To eject a disc, you must first press the /EJECT button (5) on the control panel or remote control (23) to reveal the disc slot (11). Press the /EJECT button (13) behind the TFT panel to eject the disc. The unit automatically reverts to Tuner mode.

Accessing DVD Mode

To switch to DVD mode when a disc is already inserted, press the SRC button (2) on the front panel or remote control

(8) until “READ” appears near the top of the screen. You can a

also change the source by touching the top left corner to display the “SOURCE” menu. Select “DISC” to access DVD mode.

Controlling Disc Playback

During DVD/VCD playback, press the center of the screen to display the on-screen playback controls.

NOTE: INT and L/R are only available for VCDs.

SUBTITLE

SRC: Touch to view the SOURCE menu and select a new playback source.

INT: During VCD playback, touch to play the first 15 seconds of each track. When a desired track is reached, press the INT button again to cancel the function and play the selected track.

: No function.

L/R: During VCD playback, touch to choose between Mono Left Channel, Mono Right Channel, and Stereo.

: Press to stop and retain playback position. Press again to stop and return to beginning of disc.

: Touch to move to the previous track.

: Touch to move to the next track.

SEL: Touch to adjust Equalizer/Audio and Display settings.

AUDIO: Touch to choose an alternate audio language, if available.

: No function.

SUBTITLE: Touch to activate subtitles, change subtitle language or disable subtitles, if available.

: Touch to suspend playback. Touch again to resume playback.

Stopping Playback

Touch the button on screen or on the remote control (14) to stop disc play.

To resume playback, touch the / button on screen or on the remote control (19).

Pausing Playback

Touch the / button on screen or on the remote control (19) to suspend or resume disc play.

Moving Through Tracks

Press the >> button on the remote control (18) or on screen to advance to the next chapter on the disc.

Press the << button on the remote control (17) or on screen to move to the previous chapter.

Fast Forward/Reverse

Press and hold the >> or << buttons on the remote control or on screen to fast forward or fast reverse. Press and hold once for X 2. Press and hold additional times for X 4, X 8, X 20 or PLAY. Press the play/pause >/ button to end fast forward or reverse and resume normal playback.

Repeat Chapter/Title (REPT)

Press the REPT button (7) on the remote control multiple times during playback to select from the following repeat play options:

VCD: REP ONE (track), REP ALL (disc), REP OFF

DVD: REP Chapter, REP Title, REP OFF

Repeat Section (REPT A-B)

To repeat a specified section of a track (chapter), perform the following steps:

Press the A->Bbutton on the remote control (6) to select the starting point. The display will show “REPEAT A-”.

Press A->Bwhen you reach the desired ending point. The display shows “REPEAT A-B” and the selected section will play repeatedly.

To cancel section repeat, press the A->Bbutton again. “A-B CANCEL” appears on the display.

DVD Playback Features

The following remote control features are available during DVD playback:
