D-E400HR, D-E400AN, D-E405, D-E409CK, D-E401SR specifications

The Sony D-E400, D-E406CK, D-E401, D-E403, and D-E401SR are part of a notable line of portable CD players that stood out in the late 1990s and early 2000s for their innovative features and superior audio quality. These models are particularly cherished by audiophiles and casual listeners alike for their unique combination of functionality and design.

One of the main features of these models is their compact and lightweight design, making them extremely portable for users who enjoy music on the go. The disc drive technology in these players ensures quick access times, allowing users to skip tracks or seek specific segments of a CD without significant lag.

The D-E400 series comes equipped with advanced anti-shock mechanisms, which reduce the risk of skipping during movement. This is particularly beneficial for those who might listen during exercise or travel. The anti-shock feature in each of these models provides up to 40 seconds of electronic skip protection, ensuring a smooth listening experience even in high-motion situations.

Each player is also designed with a focus on sound quality. Equipped with Sony’s Dynamic Sound System, they offer enhanced bass and treble response, allowing users to enjoy music the way it was intended. The D-E401SR variant features a high-quality audio output with a signal-to-noise ratio that minimally affects the auditory experience.

Connectivity options are also noteworthy. The players support various headphone configurations and offer standard auxiliary outputs for easy connection to speakers or audio systems. Some models include a remote control, providing additional convenience for users who prefer to manage playback from a distance.

Additionally, the D-E406CK is renowned for its additional features, such as an LCD display that provides essential information about track number, play time, and battery life, thus keeping users informed throughout their listening session. Battery efficiency is another strong point, with long playback times supported by either AA batteries or rechargeable options, depending on the model.

In summary, the Sony D-E400, D-E406CK, D-E401, D-E403, and D-E401SR represent an era of portable audio excellence. Their blend of portability, advanced anti-shock technology, superior sound quality, and user-friendly features continue to resonate with fans of personal music systems, making these CD players a cherished collectible for vintage audio enthusiasts.
