tap method

This is the standard method for entering text on your phone.

The Tap method cycles through the letters and numbers on the key you press. The Tap Extended method also cycles through additional symbols shown in the chart on page 39.

1Press a keypad key one or more times to select a letter, number, or symbol.

2Press keypad keys to enter remaining characters.

3Press Insert to store the text.

4Press # to switch entry modes.

Tip: Press S up to accept a word completion; press * to insert a space.

In a text entry screen, you can press # to switch the entry methods. If Tap or Tap Extended is not available as the Primary or Secondary entry method, see page 35.

When you enter text with the Tap or Tap Extended method, the soft key functions change.
