While you’re entering text (there’s a keypad diagram on page 5):

To	Press
enter the alternate characters,	.
at the top of each key
enter several alternate	twice.
characters (until you press
again)
enter one capital letter	.
enter only capital letters (until	twice.
you press again)
enter a space	f.
enter a symbol	.
enter an accented letter	press & hold the
	letter key.
go to a new line	j.
