To set the default file format and bit rate:

1Insert the music CD in your computer’s CD drive.

2Launch Windows Media Player 11.

3Select the “Rip” tab in Windows Media Player 11.

4Click the “Rip “tab down arrow, select “Format,” then select “Windows Media Audio” or “Windows Media Audio Pro.”

5Click the “Rip “tab down arrow again, select “Bit Rate,” then select the bit rate you want.

convert iTunes® AAC files to MP3 files on computer

Use the iTunes desktop application to convert standard iTunes AAC files to MP3 files that are compatible with Windows Media Player 11.

Note: The iTunes desktop application can only convert AAC files ripped from a music CD. It can’t convert music files purchased from the iTunes store.

1Open the iTunes desktop application on your computer.

2Select “Edit” and then “Preferences.”

3Click the “Advanced” tab and select “Importing.”

4Open the “Import Using” pop-up menu, then select the “MP3 Encoder” option. Click “OK” to save your settings.

5Select one or more songs in your iTunes music library, then select “Advanced” and then “Convert Selection to MP3.”

The converted MP3 file copies appear in your computer’s music library alongside the original AAC files.

When you load a song, information about the album, artist, genre (type of music), and composer is loaded into the Albums, Artists, Genres, and Composers folders in your music player. If this information is not available for a song, this
