OPERATION

There are two methods of creating and selecting programs on the DS48.

1.The first method uses the front panel controls of the unit and requires stepping through menus to access the proper parameters that need adjusting. Once programs have been saved to the onboard memory, call- ing up a program is quite simple. See QUICKSTART for an example of nav- igating and creating a program.

2.The second method uses the included Graphical User Interface (GUI) software run on a Windows PC. The computer connects to the DS48 and gives a more global view of the parameters and the choices for settings. This is the most efficient method to create the programs you use most and want to save to memory on the unit. They can then be called up as need- ed. If an adjustment is required and it is not convenient to hook up a PC, the edits can be made from the front panel controls of the unit. The Sysomax software also lets you monitor and remote control a DS-48 in real time from your computer.

NOTE: More detailed descriptions of how the various functions work are in Section 8, Creating A Program.

There are six buttons and three encoder knobs on the front panel, as well as mute but- tons for each of the outputs. In conjunction with the display, the six buttons and three knobs let you create, edit, save, recall and delete programs. You can also set security lev- els as to how much access to the programming menus, if any, is available to multiple users.

When the unit powers up, it will display the currently selected program by showing either the crossover type or a name for that program that has been selected and saved.
