Text Messaging
Your phone supports three text modes:
nPredictive (XT9®) mode analyzes the keys you press and attempts to finish the word you are entering. XT9 mode also tries to predict what word you are entering based on words you have entered before.
n123 (Number) mode allows you to enter numbers.
nSymbols mode allows you to enter symbols.
Change text mode

Use Keypad
Keypad Lock 
Press and hold to
lock keypad.
Alt key
Press to enter the upper level character on a key.
SYM key Press to access symbols menu.
Press and hold while typing to change text entry method.
Press and hold to toggle Vibrate mode on/off.

nTo type enter a number, press the Alt key and then the number key.
nTo enter @, press the Alt key and then the comma (,) key.
nTo type symbols, while in a text entry screen press the SYM key and then select the desired symbol.
