1.To turn on the Concertmate 970, set POWER/MODE to NORMAL. The POWER/MODE indicator lights.

Note: To save power, the key- board automatically turns off after about 6 minutes if you do not press a key. To turn the keyboard on again, set POWER/MODE to OFF then back to NORMAL. (To cancel the auto power off feature, see “Changing Auto Power Off” on Page 20.

2.Begin playing the keyboard.

Notes:

The Concertmate 970 automati- cally selects the sound PIANO (No. 00) when you turn the power on. To select a different sound, see “Using the Preset Sounds” on Page 12.

To select an auto-rhythm, see “Using the Preset Auto- Rhythms” on Page 15.

To play auto accompaniment, see “Using Auto Accompani- ment” on Page 17.

3. Press VOLUME s to increase the

sound level or VOLUME t to

decrease it. The current setting

appears on the display.

 

Notes:

 

 

 

 

• The

volume

setting range is

 

between 0 (no sound) and 9

 

(maximum). Each time you turn

 

on the keyboard, the volume

 

setting is set to 7.

 

 

To quickly change the volume

 

setting, press and hold VOL-

 

UME s or t.

 

 

 

• You can also adjust the volume

 

by pressing either VOLUME but-

 

ton once so the current setting

 

appears on the display, then

 

entering the

desired

volume

 

setting using the number keys

 

(0-9).

 

 

 

 

To return to the default setting

 

of 7, press both VOLUME but-

 

tons at the same time.

 

The

volume

 

level

differs

 

depending on

the

sound,

 

accompaniment,

or song you

 

selected.

 

 

 

4. To turn off the Concertmate 970,

set POWER/MODE to OFF. The

POWER/MODE

indicator

turns
