Warning: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver.

Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

Consult the dealer or an experienced radio TV technician for help.

Introduction

Thank you for choosing an AT895 Adaptive-array Microphone System. AT895 Systems incorporate a revolutionary DSP- controlled five-element microphone array that provides adaptive directional audio acquisition.

Utilizing Audio -Technica’s proprietary DeltaBeamtechnology, the AT895 System manipulates and filters the output of the array by acoustical, analog and digital means. This process enhances the pickup of a sound source from a desired direction relative to unwanted background noise or interference, providing cancellation of up to 80 dB. Other benefits include minimized audibility of proximity effect, minimized nearfield effect on the low-frequency directionality of the array, and markedly reduced susceptibility to mechanical noise, wind noise and racking as compared to currently-available professional microphones.

The AT895 functions equally well for handheld interview use or long-range sound pickup – in the field, in the studio, or in security operations.

AT895 specifications

The Audio-Technica AT895 is a high-performance shotgun microphone designed to capture audio with precision and clarity, making it an ideal choice for professionals in the fields of broadcasting, film production, and live sound reinforcement. Known for its superior directional characteristics and advanced features, the AT895 stands out in the competitive landscape of high-end microphones.

One of the primary features of the AT895 is its hypercardioid polar pattern, which enables it to effectively isolate sound sources while minimizing background noise. This characteristic is particularly beneficial in environments where multiple sound sources compete for attention, ensuring that the microphone captures the desired audio without unwanted interference.

The AT895 employs a high-frequency response range, extending up to 20 kHz, allowing it to reproduce even the most nuanced audio details. This wide frequency range is coupled with a low self-noise level, enabling the microphone to produce clear audio recordings even at low sound levels. The microphone also features a robust construction, designed to withstand the rigors of professional use, making it a reliable choice for on-location recording.

In terms of technology, the AT895 incorporates Audio-Technica's advanced signal processing, which helps ensure optimal sound quality. The microphone's internal circuitry is engineered to provide a linear frequency response, contributing to the accuracy and naturalness of recorded audio. Additionally, the AT895 utilizes a specialized shock mount system that reduces handling noise and vibration, further enhancing audio fidelity.

Moreover, the AT895 is equipped with a switchable low-frequency roll-off filter, which helps eliminate low-frequency rumble and handling noise. This feature is particularly useful in outdoor settings where wind and environmental noise can pose challenges. The microphone also includes a windscreen to reduce wind noise, enhancing its usability in various atmospheric conditions.

With its combination of advanced technology, thoughtful design, and professional-grade performance, the Audio-Technica AT895 has become a favored tool for audio engineers and content creators alike. Whether used for interviews, voiceover work, or field production, the AT895 delivers exceptional sound quality, making it a valuable addition to any audio toolkit.
