B-CONTROL NANO BCN44

4.1 LEARN function

The easiest way to assign MIDI functions to individual control elements is to use the LEARN function in the EDIT mode. Here, the assignment is done “from the outside.” For example, MIDI data that you are sending from a MIDI sequencer to your B-CONTROL are assigned to a previously selected control element.

Using the LEARN function, in addition to receiving CC, NRPN and note commands, almost all types of MIDI data can be received, including short SysEx strings.

sKeep the EDIT/EXIT button pressed and actuate the desired control element (push encoder or button). The control element is shown in the display.

sRelease the EDIT/EXIT button and press the LEARN button . The B-CONTROL is ready to receive a MIDI command.

s Start the desired MIDI command on your sequencer or software synthesizer.

sAfter successful data transmission, “GOOd” is shown in the display; otherwise, “bAd” is shown in the display if false, defective or excessively long data was sent.

sTo leave or cancel the LEARN function, press the EDIT/EXIT button.

sStore your changes in a preset.
