1.Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on or near children or individuals with certain disabilities.

2.Do not use attachments not recommended by Andis.

3.Do not use this appliance with a damaged or broken blade as injury may occur.

4.Caution: Dispose of used batteries properly. Do not incinerate; batteries may explode if overheated.

BATTERIES

Your cordless Styliner Shaver uses two “AA” batteries. To insert batteries push arrow on bottom of trimmer in and up. Insert batteries as shown on inside of trimmer.

BLADES

When trimming is complete, slide on/off switch to off position and remove the trimming guide (if being used). Lightly brush out blades with the blade cleaning brush provided. For best results put a drop of Andis clipper oil on the blade when necessary (at least once a day). Blades can be removed completely for easier cleaning. Simply snap off and on (see diagram). Motor bearings are permanently lubricated–do not attempt to oil. Blades should be handled carefully and never bumped or used to cut dirty or abrasive material. Do not use while bathing or in the shower, as damage to batteries and product may occur.

USING TRIMMING GUIDE

Your Styliner Shaver comes complete with an adjustable 5-position at- tachment guide. Before using, always make sure your Styliner Shaver is switched to the “off” position. To use the blade attachment guide, position it in runners on sides of trimmer head and slide it into place over blades. There are five settings: 5 (first setting) for longest length, 4, 3, 2 and 1 (last setting) for shortest trimming length.

This product is intended for household use.

NOW YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT INGROWN FACIAL HAIR. . .

The problem begins with the position of the hair follicle—a pocket in the skin out of which the hair grows.

The angle of the follicle determines the direction of the hair. Curly hair tends to grow out in a circular manner, curling back into the skin, caus- ing the infection.

It’s difficult to shave curly hair with an elec- tric razor. The electric

razor blade is covered with small holes. Hair is cut as it comes through these little holes.

Even when considerable pressure is applied, it’s almost impossible to cut the curly hair at the skin line through the holes. And too much pressure can result in skin burns. When the skin is irritated, a safety razor isn’t the answer, either. It cuts into the little bumps that ingrown hair cause and cuts the hair at a slant, allowing the pointed ends to easily penetrate the skin and become ingrown.

Every day your face comes in contact with all kinds of bacteria, including the bacteria from fingers that touch or pick at facial sores. The bacteria gets beneath the surface of the skin and aggravates irritated areas. For this reason we suggest you use a medicated skin conditioner on your beard after shaving in the morning and at night.

The Andis Styliner to the rescue. Used in the following program, it can be very effective in helping to prevent ingrown hair.

First, clean and dry your face thoroughly using a rough towel to stimulate the skin and remove facial scales.

Next, vigorously brush your beard. Use the enclosed beard lifter brush. It can be sterilized easily and it’s important for the brush to be clean. Brushing dislodges ingrown hair and re- locates curly hair ends so they can’t grow back into the skin. Even more importantly, regular brushing trains hair to grow in one direction so it can be shaved off without damaging the skin. Use the guide on the back of this sheet for brushing the beard a couple of times a day

Note: If your face is sore, press the Cordless Styliner very lightly against the skin when you shave, shaving with the direction of the hair. If soreness continues, stop shaving for a few days. Continue to brush your beard daily to train it to grow in one direction. Then use the Styliner to trim your face completely and remove all ingrown hairs. After your face heals, you can return to your preferred method of shaving. Use the Styliner whenever the ingrown hair problem returns.

causing bumps to flatten out. Fine teeth blunt cut hair off at the skin line without cutting into bumps or folds in the skin as safety razors do.

The 2-part trimmer blade shaves curly hair cleaner than electric razors. The bottom blade moves with the trimmer, while the top blade

moves in a straight line in the opposite direction. Hair feeds into the fine teeth, blunt cutting off even curly hair at

skin level.
