Supported Operating Systems

SW 6000 Software v5.3 support standard installations* of the following operating systems

Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 or later. Windows XP Home Edition is not supported.

Windows Vista

Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit)

Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2

*Please notice that cloned operating systems are not considered a standard installation. Clones may cause problems with duplicate SIDs causing the MSDTC to fail. Clones should therefore be used with caution and only by experienced IT people.

Preparations before installation

Before you start the installation of the SW 6000 Software Package you must ensure that you have installed the following software:

If you use more PCs in the system, you will have to install a LAN TCP/IP connection (TCP/IP) at the PC. Assign a permanent or automatic IP address

If you use more than one PC in the system and are using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 or 3 (SP2 or SP3), Windows Vista or Windows 7 please note that there are some built in Windows errors, which have to be corrected before running SW 6000. See sub-section ‘Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2/3 corrections’, ‘Windows Vista corrections’ or ‘Windows 7 corrections’.

Disable the firewall as default. If it is necessary to enable the firewall please follow the instructions in the two links below:

Install touch screen driver if using touch screen for the CUA.
