The QoS function of VM1188T will maintain exceptional quality in a shared wireless voice and data network by prioritizing voice to have higher priority then data packets. The WMM(802.11e) provides optimum Quality of Service (QoS) by delivering real time applica- tion packet with higher priority. The WMM will recognize the Types of Service (TOS) fi eld of the IP frame to assign the priority for the IP frames. The QoS function of VM1188T will also look up 802.1p tag when VLAN is ena- bled. By providing preference to voice packets over data packets on the wireless LAN, this prioritization of packets helps increase the probability that all voice packets will be trans- mitted effi ciently.
