Full support is provided for local config- uration of call handling for busy, call for-

ward, and conditional call forward.

Acting as a telephone set, the SmartLink 4050 replaces a traditional analog tele- phone while enabling usage of Internet telephony services. There is no need for additional wiring or Ethernet hubs because each phone is equipped with two RJ45 Ethernet adapters. Simply add the SL4050 phones to an existing Ethernet connection to a desktop PC. Power over Ethernet (802.3af) support is available as an option-

al accessory to allow for implementation of a centralized low voltage battery backup of all onsite SL4050 phones.

SmartLink 4050s can be easily installed and configured through a local web inter- face for individual installations. For enter- prises or service providers in need of large scale deployments, the SIP phones feature automatic firmware and configuration download from a central configuration server.

A complete replacement of the enterprise PBX is feasible when the SL4050 phones are combined with Patton’s SmartLink IP- PBX and Patton’s Smartnode IP gateways. The complete VoIP system allows single site or muti-site integration into a shared PBX system over an intranet or Internet connection.
