Clear voice mail indication

If you subscribe to voice mail services provided by your local telephone company, NEW VOICE

MAIL and the icon will appear on the hand- set screen when you have new voice mail. The VOICEMAIL light on the telephone base will also flash.

To cancel an operation, back up to the previous menu, or exit the menu display press OFF/CLEAR. To return to the idle mode press and hold OFF/CLEAR.

To manually turn off the NEW VOICE MAIL mes-

sage, icon and VOICEMAIL light:

1.Press MENU/SELECT in idle mode to enter the feature menu.

2.Press CID/-VOLUMEto highlight SETTINGS, then press MENU/SELECT to enter the SETTINGS menu.

3.Press CID/-VOLUME or DIR/VOLUME+ to highlight

CLR VOICE MAIL.

4.Press MENU/SELECT.

5.Press MENU/SELECT again to remove the dis- played message, or press OFF/CLEAR to exit.

This only turns off the displayed NEW VOICE MAIL message, icon and VOICEMAIL light. It does not delete the voice mail message(s).

Use this feature when the telephone indicates there is voice mail when you have none, or when you have accessed your voice mail from a different tel- ephone line (away from home). If there is actu- ally a new voice mail message, your local telephone company will continue to send the signal which will

cause the NEW VOICE MAIL message, icon and VOICEMAIL light to be displayed again.

NOTE: Your telephone company may alert you with a pulsing (stutter) dial tone to indicate there is a voice mail message.
