2.Slide CHARGE ON/OFF inside the battery compartment to OFF (for alkaline batteries) or ON (for Ni-Cd or Ni-MH re- chargeable batteries).

3.Install three AAA batteries ac- cording to the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside.

4.Slide the battery cover back on.
