Survey

The functions described here may only be used when GPS

 

reception is sufficient to determine your current position. The

 

GPS symbol must be GPS ready.

6.1GPS status

Opening the GPS

STATUS window

On the GPS STATUS window you will find a survey on the data the navigation system calculates resp. extracts from the received GPS signals.

1.Open the MAIN WINDOW if it is not opened yet (see page 28).

2.On the MAIN WINDOW, press the Options softbutton (left softbutton).

3.Use the cursor pad to mark the GPS status option.

4.Press the OK key.

The GPS STATUS window opens.

In the GPS STATUS window, you will find the following information:

Greenwich Mean Time: The time of London.

GMT

This is not the time at your current position

 

when you are in another time zone.

 

 

 

The number of GPS satellites from which

Satellites

signals are currently being received. The

signals of at least 3 satellites are needed

 

 

for calculating the current position.

 

 

 

Indicates the quality of position

 

determination. The smaller the value, the

HDOP

more accurate is the position

 

determination. Values up to 8 are

 

convenient for navigation purposes.
