Using Special Features

Privacy Mode

If you don’t want other handsets to interrupt you while on a call, turn on privacy mode. As long as your handset is in privacy mode, other handsets can’t join your call or make any calls of their own: their displays will show

UNAVAILABLE.

) While on a call, press [Menu/Select].

2)Select CALL PRIVACY. PRIVACY MODE ON appears in the display for two seconds; appears and remains in the display until the feature is turned off.

To turn privacy mode off, repeat the procedure listed above. PRIVACY MODE OFF appears.

Using the Intercom

You can use the intercom to talk to another handset without using the phone line. The handsets must be currently connected to the same base (see page 21).

Making an Intercom Page

) When the phone is in standby, press [Clear/Int’com].

2)Use [] or [] to select the handset you want to talk with, and then press [Menu/Select]. Select ALL to page all other handsets.

3)To cancel the intercom page, press [ ].

Note: Intercom paging will be cancelled if any of the following things occur:

You receive an outside call or an intercom page while selecting the other handset.

You do not select a handset within thirty seconds.

Your handset is out of range (OUT OF RANGE appears in the display).

The party does not answer the page within one minute.

The party is busy.

The party is out of range (UNAVAILABLE appears in the display).
